Researchers from University of Manitoba and York University are looking for volunteers who identify as Black, aged 55 years and above who have lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba or anywhere in Canada for at least six months, their families of Black older adults and those who work with Black community organizations located in Winnipeg for at least three months. Family members and program workers must be 18 years and above.
You would be asked to participate in one face-to-face or virtual interview and one focus group discussion if eligible. The individual interview will last for approximately 60 minutes, while the focus group discussion for eligible individuals will last for 2-3 hours at the University of Manitoba. The volunteers will help us understand what cultural appropriateness means in the context of Black communities and Black older adults within Winnipeg, and identify the crucial elements of culturally appropriate interventions and their relevance for Black older adults.
